What Is Semaglutide (Ozempic)?Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Ozempic which is a GLP-1 Agonist. This drug works with to stimulate the pancreas to produce additional insulin, which helps delay the stomach’s emptying time, and signaling to the brain a feeling of fullness. This results in long lasting appetite suppression for most patients, in addition to improving blood sugar levels. Semaglutide also assists with overall fat metabolism. Which helps you eat less, which leads to weight loss.

Is it right for me?

We will review your health history and weight loss goals with you. If you are a candidate for our weight-loss program, you’ll schedule a semaglutide shot weekly in our office. You will also weigh in at each appointment and we'll track your progress!

How much weight will I lose?

The average weight a person may lose can vary significantly based on diet, exercise, metabolism, and adherence to the treatment plan. You can gain weight once you stop your injections, based on lifestyle choices, diet and health conditions. Once you’ve reached your target weight or are no longer seeing significant weight loss with regular injections, your focus should shift to weight maintenance.

How well does it work?

"An early study of 2,000 obese adults compared people using semaglutide plus a diet and exercise program with people who made the same lifestyle changes without semaglutide. After 68 weeks, half of the participants using semaglutide lost 15% of their body weight, and nearly a third lost 20%. Participants who incorporated only lifestyle changes lost about 2.4% of their weight."

What should I expect?

And is it safe?

You’ll start to notice that you’ll feel full for longer periods and have a decrease in food cravings.  You'll begin losing weight as soon as after your first injection.

Semaglutide is safe under medical supervision, with fewer side effects than most other weight loss medications. Some individuals report mild nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, or constipation. We also start you off at a low dosage and slowly increase it over time until we reach the ideal dosage for weight loss.

Goals!

At the end of your 12 week program, we will assess your results and if you haven't reached your weight loss goal, we’ll determine if additional semaglutide injection treatments are right for you and develop a plan together.
